- Although our in house consultants have a wealth of knowledge at their disposal, they are unable to see inside a tree. This is why we use a resistograph, a piece of high tech machinery which uses a tiny drill piece to drill into a tree which is suspected to be hollow or contain pockets of decay.
- This then measures the resistance of the timber to plot on a graph where decay is present. This will be available on a printout for our clients records.
- This is an invaluable tool to assess a trees suitability to remain in a given location. Trees are able to stand for many years with a certain amount of decay present and the use of our resistograph allows our consultants to assess the structural integrity of trees and negate the need for unnecessary felling.
